About Me
HI, I’m Ian Ferguson. I am a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a masters in robotics. I’ve always been interested in making things and the creative process that entails. My passion for the past 9 years has been robotics. Ever since I joined my high school’s FIRST robotics team I’ve been interested in trying to create machines to intelligently solve everyday problems. I’ve had a chance to explore this interest in many ways and have had the opportunity to work on a number of fascinating projects, everything from robots to help children with autism to my current project a robotic manta ray to study the manta’s unique form of locomotion.
I’m also a big fan of design and the design process. Working at Inch-inc. I had a lot of fun designing a number of products from photo booths to dog poop catchers. I also try to keep myself busy by working on some side projects. The last two summers I built an arcade machine and a jukebox with my twin brother. My roommates were pretty excited about that.
I’m not sure where I’ll be in a year from now but I know it will be exciting and that I’ll be having a great time.
